Air feels weaker after room work. What information should I keep?

Note which rooms changed and what work took place. Do not assume that the new work caused the problem. A moved cabinet or changed room layout may affect what you notice. Start with the vents that feel different. A cold room alone is not a reason to order duct cleaning or replacement.

Describe the room as it is now

From inside the room, note vents or returns that are visibly covered. Does airflow feel normal elsewhere? Say when the change first appeared and whether the heater also stops. Keep any photos of the finished room and its grilles.

Do not reach into ducts or open fixed panels. Stay out of unfinished ceiling spaces. Leave a filter for the technician if it cannot be reached safely under its user guide. Do not add a second filter or try a different rating as a test. Give the current filter details if known.

Check consent for work behind finishes

Whoever arranged the work at your East or South Naples home may have plans or photos. Share them if you already have them. Find out who can approve access behind a wall or ceiling. Also agree who would patch and restore it afterward.

A tenant or caretaker should ask the owner before agreeing to openings. For a shared space, check with the manager too. Ducts may have a fault with no damage visible from the room. A cold room does not prove duct damage either.

Define where the repair will start and end

Ask what the airflow check found and which part is affected. Does the plan involve equipment, ducts or a visible blockage? List openings and finish repairs as a separate scope. Collier County's A/C replacement guide calls for documents for duct changes. Check the rules for the address and planned work before agreeing.
